Scouting for Girls, not too Hot
BBC Radio 1NME Stage
So you've had a great first year, a stream of hit records and now you're playing at the best music festival in the world. So, surely you've got to be able to put in a decent set to keep the festival-goers happy.
Unfortunately Scouting For Girls weren't that great. The band seemed to be in reverse gear as they opened their set.
And as the set progressed things just seemed to get worse. Lead vocalist, Roy Stride, was so laidback in his performance that he was almost horizontal.
They ploughed through all their hit records of the past year, but, as with their album, each song sounded no different than the last and the boys from London just couldn't seem to catch the imagination of the T-in-the-Park crowd.
Needless to say closing record, "She's so lovely", was received very well with the crowd doing the famous Scottish "Bouncy."
